Initial post

So I am starting to get excited about my trip. I've started posting on the thorntree again, getting peoples opinions on my Japan plan and a potential 8 yr layover in Hong Kong. I think it would be a perfect ending to my trip:

-Landing in Hong Kong at 10:30 AM. Taking a train or bus into Kowloon or Central, getting some dim sum, then going down to the waterfront, walking into a 7-11, grabbing a couple san miguels, then drinking them as I look over the water. Then I'd jet back to the airport to catch my flight back to SFO.

The problem is trying to figure out the timing of everything. I hate to be rushed. I'm thinking 3 weeks in Bangladesh will be ok. That'll leave me about a month in India. I have an idea that this might be the only time I ever go to that part of the world, so I might as well make the most of it.

That'll leave a 2-3 weeks in Southeast Asia. I think 4 would be ideal: 1 to arrange visas and tickets to the subcontinent, and the other 3 to explore Malaysia, and a couple other countries. Laos sounds pretty damn cool, and Indonesia would be interesting.
